Hi, my name is Valerie Z. Holstead and I am the jewelry designer and owner of Z Creations, Creative Jewelry & Design. On my site you will find unusual and eye-catching pieces of jewelry, each of which has been personally designed and created by me. My designs are brought to life using unusual combinations of colors and textures from an assortment of semi-precious gemstones, Swarovski Austrian crystals, freshwater pearls, handcrafted Lampwork beads and other unusual beads/pendants. To provide balance to these unique combinations, I use a variety of sterling silver, gold filled and gold vermeil beads and clasps, as well as other quality components.

My creations come from a myriad of inspirations, such as the incredible diversity of nature's colorful combinations, or perhaps I'll see a fabric with an unusual color or texture that will set off an idea. Oftentimes, I awaken at 3:00 a.m. with a picture in my mind, and off I go to my office to create what's in my head. When learning a new technique, I also like to develop and rework that technique until I've developed a style of my own, which I then incorporate into my designs.

Much of the jewelry I design with semi-precious gemstones and pearls are indeed one-of-a-kind, or at least limited editions. I can make similar reproductions of these pieces using like gemstones and pearls, and no two will be identical because of the naturally occurring differences in these stones. One distinction that sets my jewelry apart from others is that I take the time to design and create these pieces myself. None are mass-produced. Another is that I strive to offer unusual designs and colors combined with quality workmanship for those seeking uncommonly beautiful jewelry. And, of course, I will design a piece of jewelry specifically for you, or as a gift. I am happiest when I am creating and would be delighted to provide you with your own "signature piece".

My designs are suitable for all occasions, from black tie formal affairs to blue jean picnics. They will take you from a day at the office straight to a night on the town.
